OUR STORY
The San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation was founded in 1989 in response to the growing disparity in equity and opportunity within our San Mateo-Foster City School District (SMFCSD) due in part to decreased state funding caused by the passage of Proposition 13.

Since then, the San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation has continued its mission to raise funds and partner with the SMFCSD and the community to ensure that every student in our public school district receives the best opportunities to reach their fullest potential.

The Education Foundation has two primary goals:
-
Generate support through family and broader community donations and participation, and
-
Build ongoing partnerships with local businesses, corporations, community based organizations & foundations to fund district-wide programs that reach all of our students.

Together with grantors and our generous community, the Education Foundation has granted more than $8.7 million to the SMFCSD to support district-wide programs such as music, art, literacy, STEM education, and after-school athletics.
