** The Education Foundation is actively seeking Board Members, Committee Members, School Liaisons, and Volunteers!
The Education Foundation is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization committed to reaching every child in the San Mateo-Foster City School District. We need volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of all of our students and help provide our kids with a well-rounded education across all aspects of learning: STEM, art, music, athletics, special education, etc.

Marketing Chair
The marketing chair leads the design and oversight of the annual marketing and communications plan. This role liaises with event and fundraising chairs as well as executive board leadership to ensure the foundation takes a coordinated approach to how we message our stakeholder community. This person also collaborates with the content creator(s) to ensure the foundation’s website is “living and relevant”.

Content Creator - Blog/Website & Social Media
The content creator is responsible for being the storyteller for the education foundation, highlighting in short and medium form content (social media blurbs to 200-400 word blog posts) updates, successes, and human interest stories to our stakeholder community.

Fundraising Chair
The fundraising chair leads the design and oversight of the foundation’s annual campaign and donor expansion strategy. They will recruit a team of volunteers that will support with outreach and collaborate with the Community Liaison to ensure an active and growing relationship with school site PTAs and leadership.​​​

Technology Chair
The technology chair is responsible for ensuring that the foundation’s technology infrastructure is right-sized and appropriate to support effective program execution and advises event committees on the selection and implementation of technology.​

Event Planning
Throughout the year, the Foundation needs volunteers to help lead, coordinate, and execute our various community fundraisers and engagement events. You'll work with a collaborative team from the Foundation, our School District, and the broader community.

Fundraising
Our targeted fundraising and needs fulfillment relies on ongoing grant writing. Our volunteers support research, writing, editing, and submission for grant proposals so we can fund specific needs throughout the academic year.

Communications & Writing
It's hard to say what the most critical role is at the Foundation - but we do know that communication and community engagement are absolutely critical to our success. Volunteers in communications roles ensure our messaging is accurate, timely, aligned to our brand, translated into Spanish and other languages to drive readership within the community, and sent out through our various channels.
