Our Impact

Since 1989, the San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation, together with grantors and our generous community, has granted more than $8.7 million to the San Mateo-Foster City School District providing programming in music, art, literacy, STEM education, and after-school athletics.

Note: Arts & Music were fully funded by the SMFC School District due to California Proposition 28 & an Arts Block Grant

A generous grant from Gilead Sciences allowed us to address health & safety issues caused by the pandemic as well as embark on a three-year academic leadership initiative to strengthen science education for almost 11,000 District students.

Through this partnership, the Education Foundation has been able to provide autonomous thermal scanners to all school sites and district facilities. As well, we are proud to fund a Science Teacher on Special Assignment for 3 years.

We are grateful to Gilead Sciences for being a valued partner in our local community.
